DYNAMIC NEW PIZZAEXPRESS RESTAURANT OPENS IN GRETNA GATEWAY DEVELOPMENT, bringing a refreshing mixture of classic design with a modern twist to the area.
The new opening will bring 25 additional jobs to the community. The 3,000 sq ft restaurant, which draws heavy inspiration from the town’s status as the wedding capital of the UK, boasts a stunning elevated Pizziaolo kitchen space in the centre of the space, and beautiful green leather upholstered banquette seating throughout.
The theme of ‘tying the knot’ is clearly demonstrated in the restaurant’s design; from the illuminated signs depicting phrases associated with marriage - such as ‘I DO’ - dotted around the space; to the interlocking ‘rings’ that feature in the wall panelling. The theme can even be spotted in the delicate wall tiling pattern that runs throughout the restaurant, which is inspired by the lace detail often popular on bridal gowns.
Bespoke artwork is also installed throughout the restaurant; connected to the general theme of marriage and engagement. The new opening provides pizza lovers with the perfect opportunity to indulge in their favourite recipe, before hitting the shops at Gretna Gateway.
Restaurant Manager Dane Swart comments: “I am incredibly excited to be bringing the nation’s best-loved pizza to Gretna, and to be at the helm of such a great team.”
Scott Wells Centre Manager comments: “We’re delighted to welcome Pizza Express to the Gretna Gateway, adding to an already successful and popular line-up of brands.”
The opening coincides with the introduction of the brand’s Winter Specials menu, which includes a Barbacoa Romana pizza (£14.25) and the return of old favourite the Etna (£13.20). The mouth-watering Chocolate Fondant (£6.40) is also on offer on the dessert menu; alongside two delicious cocktails: the Sloe Prosecco (£5.35) and the Flat White Martini (£5.25).
For younger pizza-lovers, the Piccolo menu is full of tasty choices including ‘Create Your Own’ pizza, and starts at just £3.95. For budding chefs looking to celebrate a birthday, a Pizza Making Party will see them transformed into pizzaiolos so they can stretch, toss and top their own pizza and play party games before sitting down to enjoy their culinary creations.
