Gretna Gateway Outlet Village is investing just over £1 million to create 300 additional parking spaces in a new North Car Park on Glasgow Road in Gretna, just 100 metres from its M&S Outlet store.
The Outlet Village, which opened a new Phase 3 extension anchored by Next Outlet less than a year ago, has shown consistent growth in visitor numbers and sales every year since 2008 and the new car park will help to cater for this continued success by increasing the overall parking capacity to 1,100 spaces. The land for the North Car Park has been purchased from Dumfries and Galloway Council and has been unused for many years. Work has now started on the new facility, which will be completed by October. The North Car Park will be open every day, but locked and secure overnight. It will have lighting (when required), CCTV, Parent & Child parking and a traffic-light-controlled pedestrian crossing. There will also be an enhanced entrance and walkway to M&S Outlet and Gretna Gateway.Peter Gardner, General Manager, Gretna Gateway Outlet Village said;“Our new North Car Park will enable us and our tenants to fully maximise our trading potential in the years ahead, and will relieve any pressure on the surrounding roads on our busiest days.We have enjoyed exceptional success in recent years. Gretna Gateway now employs over 560 people and hosts an impressive tenant line-up, including the recently-arrived international footwear brand, Skechers. This new car park will help us to further develop the business, delivering a first-class shopping experience for our customers and cementing our role as a leading shopping destination and important local employer.”Gretna Gateway Outlet Village is open seven days a week 10am to 6pm.For further information, visit www.gretnagateway.com or phone 01461 339028.
